How to use the sponge ball/ cleaning ball to clean the concrete pump placer delivery pipeline

Pipeline and Hopper Cleaning Procedure (Post-Operation)

Final Conveying: At the end of the work shift, pump the remaining concrete from the hopper down to the lowest level of the concrete cylinders. This is to facilitate the subsequent insertion of the sponge balls.

Motor Stop: Immediately stop the motor.

Sponge Ball Preparation: Thoroughly saturate the sponge balls with water.

Cylinder Cleaning & Ball Insertion: Manually scoop out the residual concrete from the concrete cylinders. Insert the water-saturated sponge balls approximately 15 cm into the inner side of each cylinder.

Initial Purging: Restart the motor and engage the forward pumping mode for exactly two (2) strokes, then stop the pump immediately.

Hopper Flushing: Open the discharge gate and flush out any unset (non-hardened) residual concrete from the hopper using water.

Main Pipeline And Concrete Placer Flushing: Fill the hopper completely with clean water and resume pumping in the forward mode. Continue pumping until clear water emerges from the discharge end of the pipeline. This confirms that the entire pipeline has been thoroughly cleaned.

System Water Recovery: Open the hopper discharge gate again, then switch to reverse pumping to return the flushing water back into the hopper for disposal.

Final Hopper Cleaning: After both the pipeline and the concrete cylinders are confirmed clean, perform a final manual cleaning of the hopper interior to remove any residual, hardened (set) concrete patches.

⚠️ Critical Safety / Operational Note:

NEVER insert the sponge balls while the motor is running. The motor MUST be completely stopped before inserting the sponge balls into the cylinders. Failure to comply may result in severe equipment damage or personal injury.
